This week we focused on learning the parts of an insect.

We also compared an ant to a spider.

Ants have 3 body parts, six legs and two antennas

Spiders have two body parts, eight legs and NO antennas

One more tidbit of news...our ants arrived!

The class has enjoyed watching our ants get to work, building tunnels (we can see them carrying sand with their mandibles, as well as eating/moving the apple and carrot pieces we fed them).
Wonder how busy our ants are working this weekend?
